Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?

Yes. Click a line of text with the Text tool and type. The original words are removed from the file rather than just covered, and Find and replace (Ctrl+F) changes text across the document.

How do I sign a PDF online?

Choose Sign, then type your name, draw with a mouse, finger or pen, or upload a photo of your signature. Click where it should go. Signatures are saved in your browser for next time.

Can I add fillable form fields to a PDF?

Yes. The Forms tool adds text, multi-line, checkbox, radio and dropdown fields that work in other PDF readers.

Is Whiteout safe for hiding sensitive information?

No. Whiteout covers content but doesn't remove it. To permanently remove text, use Redact PDF instead.

Is my PDF uploaded when I edit it?

No. The editor reads and saves the PDF in your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
