What is AVIF?

AVIF is a modern image format based on the AV1 video codec. It often gives smaller files than WebP or JPEG at the same visual quality.

Is AVIF better than WebP?

AVIF usually compresses further, while WebP encodes faster and is supported by slightly older browsers. Both keep transparency.

Why does AVIF conversion take longer?

AVIF encoding does more work to find a small file, so it is slower than JPEG or WebP, especially for large images.

Are my images uploaded?
