How to use Favicon Generator

Under Source, choose Image and add a picture, or Text / emoji and type one.
Adjust Shape, Background, Padding and, for text, Font and Text colour.
Enter the App name (for the manifest).
Click Download all (.zip) and paste the tags under Add to your <head> into your site.

This tool makes the usual set: a 48x48 favicon.ico, 16x16 and 32x32 PNGs, a 180x180 Apple touch icon, and 192x192 and 512x512 Android icons, plus site.webmanifest.

How do I add a favicon to my website?

Unzip the files into your site's root folder and paste the provided link tags into the head of your pages.

Can I make a favicon from an emoji or letters?

Yes. Choose Text / emoji, type one or two letters or an emoji, and pick a font, colours and shape.

What image works best for a favicon?

A square image of at least 512x512, or an SVG, gives the sharpest results at every size.
