Sign a PDF Online

Add your signature to a PDF in a minute: type your name in a handwriting font, draw it with a mouse, finger or pen, or upload a photo of your signature on paper. The PDF is signed in your browser, so the document never leaves your device, and there's no account, watermark or limit on how many you sign.

How to use Sign PDF

  1. Drop the PDF you want to sign, or choose it from your device.
  2. Make your signature: Type (pick a handwriting style), Draw, or Upload image. The paper background of an uploaded photo is removed, and you can pick the ink colour.
  3. Click on the page where the signature goes, then drag it into place or resize it with the handle on its corner. Place it again on other pages that need it.
  4. Add the date or your printed name with the Text tool if the form asks for them, then download the signed PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sign a PDF without printing it?

Open it here, make your signature once (typed, drawn or from a photo), click where it goes and download. Nothing is printed or scanned, and the file stays on your device.

Is this a legal electronic signature?

It adds a picture of your signature to the page, which is what most application forms, rental agreements, offer letters and declarations ask for. Whether a particular document can be signed this way depends on the law and on whoever asked for it; some filings need a certificate-based digital signature instead.

Is it a digital signature (DSC)?

No. It doesn't add a certificate-based digital signature, such as the Class 3 DSC some Indian government and company filings require. Those are applied with your certificate in software that supports it, after any other edits, because changing a PDF afterwards breaks a digital signature.

Where is my signature saved?

In your browser's storage on this device, so it's ready next time; up to six are kept. It isn't uploaded or synced. Remove one with the × next to it, or clear this site's data in your browser.

Can I sign on my phone?

Yes. Draw with your finger, or take a photo of your signature on white paper and upload it. Zoom in with the zoom buttons to place it precisely.

Can several people sign the same PDF?

Yes, one after another: each person opens the PDF, adds their signature and downloads it, then passes the file on. There's no request-and-track workflow, and nothing is stored on a server.

How do I add the date next to my signature?

Use the Text tool to type the date anywhere on the page, or the Stamp tool, which can add today's date under a stamp.

The PDF has form fields. Can I fill them as well?

Fill them first with Fill PDF Form, download the result, then sign it here.
