Type straight into a PDF's own form fields, tick its checkboxes and pick from its lists, then download the filled PDF. Long forms show how many fields are answered and take you to the next empty one. It all happens in your browser, so the form and your answers never leave your device.
How to use Fill PDF Form
Drop the PDF form, or choose it from your device. Its fillable fields show as light blue boxes on the page.
Click a field and type, tick checkboxes and radio buttons, and choose from dropdowns and lists. Next empty field and the field list take you straight to what's left.
To stop the answers being changed later, tick Lock the answers (flatten).
Click Download filled PDF, then Download PDF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my PDF form is fillable?
A fillable PDF has form fields built into the file: boxes you can click and type into, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdowns. Open it here. If it has fields, they show as light blue boxes and the side panel counts them; if it hasn't, you're told the PDF has no fillable fields.
My form isn't fillable. How can I fill it in?
Scanned forms, and forms saved by printing to PDF, have no fields: the boxes are only part of the page. Open it in Edit PDF and use the Text tool to click anywhere on the page and type, line by line.
What does "Lock the answers (flatten)" do?
It makes each answer part of the page and removes the fields, so the answers can't be changed in a PDF reader and look the same everywhere. Leave it off if you, or whoever receives the form, still need to edit the answers.
How do I sign the form after filling it?
Download the filled PDF, then open it in Sign PDF to type, draw or upload your signature and place it on the page. This tool doesn't fill signature fields; if the form has one, it reminds you to sign afterwards.
Can I fill a form in Hindi or another Indian language?
Yes, a field takes whatever your keyboard types. When you lock the answers, text in Devanagari (Hindi, Marathi), Bengali, Gujarati, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada is drawn with embedded Noto fonts, so it shows correctly in every reader. Gurmukhi and Malayalam answers can't be locked yet. Without locking, how such text shows depends on the reader, because a form's own font usually has only Latin letters.
What is an XFA form, and can I fill one?
XFA is an older Adobe form format that some government and bank PDFs use, and many PDF readers can't show it. When a PDF is only XFA, its fields are shown as Firefox shows them and your answers are saved into the form's XFA data, where Adobe Acrobat Reader reads them. Its scripts (automatic totals, adding rows) don't run, and locking isn't available. A form that has normal fields plus an XFA copy is saved with the normal fields only, so every reader shows your answers.
Is my form uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is opened, filled and saved in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server. That matters for forms that hold your PAN, Aadhaar number or bank details.
The form is password-protected. What can I do?
If it opens without a password but restricts editing or form filling, those restrictions are removed so your answers can be saved. If it needs a password to open, unlock it first with Unlock PDF and its password, then fill the unlocked copy here.
